Patented detection technology using time resolved fluorescence (TRF) in conjunction with chemical modulators enables us to measure residual inhibitor concentration in the range of 1 to 140ppm (range up to 100 000ppm).
TRF – How it Works
Europium/polymer complexes fluoresce for around one 1ms. By delaying the measurements by >100µs most background fluorescence such as autofluoresence and light scattering are blocked thus eliminating unwanted interference. AQSENS™ is high performance TRF method for measuring trace amounts of residual polymeric scale inhibitor present in oilfield produced waters with a high degree of accuracy and repeatability.

Applications (polymeric and for phosphonate SI ) are used with the Q Reader.They are tolerant to variations in scale inhibitor product formulation as well as variations in produced water.
Typical results are summarized in the table. And examples of comparisons with HPLC are shown in the two figures.
